Se-tenant pair of 1980 railway letter stamps, one in English and one Welsh, marking the 10th anniversary of the Joint Marketing Panel of Welsh Narrow Gauge Railways.

At the time, eight Welsh narrow gauge railways made up the “Great Little Trains of Wales” Joint Marketing Panel (Trenau Bychain Enwog Cymru in Welsh), which has subsequently expanded to represent 12 railways today.

This issue was valid for use on the five railways that were operating a railway letter service – Ffestiniog, Llanberis Lake, Talyllyn, Vale of Rheidol and Welshpool and Llanfair – and is usually listed in catalogues under each individual railway, as well as being a distinctive one-off in its own right!
