About Colonsay

Colonsay is a Scottish island in the Inner Hebrides, situated between Islay and Mull. It is eight miles long and up to three miles wide, with a resident population of 135.

The stamps are fantasy Cinderellas with no postal function, but are labels intended to accompany standard Royal Mail postage stamps on mail for the UK mainland.

The creators of the stamps, who visit Colonsay regularly, intend that there will be no more than one issue each year, each one depicting and celebrating island life. Following the 2018 issue, a further set of stamps, depicting Colonsay Landscapes, was produced in May 2019.
