Description

Se-tenant strip of four Anglesey stamps issued on 1 May 2022, marking the 100th anniversary of the Urdd, a national voluntary youth organisation.

The Urdd aims to protect and promote the Welsh language and, appropriately, the face values of these stamps are written in Welsh as “c”, or “ceiniogau”, rather than in the English “pence”.

The creator of this set (see below) considers it an Anglesey issue, even though the name of the island does not actually appear on the stamps.

U/M / Unmounted Mint / MNH / Mint Never Hinged.

About Anglesey

Anglesey-based Martin Husband is a prolific producer of Cinderella stamps, with his first issues for the Isle of Anglesey appearing in 2015. Since then, he has branched out into various other island issues.

None of these issues perform any local postal function, but they are consistently well designed, produced in small quantities, and do a nice job of showcasing the history, landscapes, flora and fauna of the places that they feature.
