For a long time, we have produced our own Cinderella labels which we affix to the back of mail that we send out to customers, and cancel with a “Graham Land” postmark.
Like previous issues, our new 2019 “Islands of the United Kingdom” fantasy issue has been created primarily for this purpose, though we recognise that some collectors might wish to own a mint set too.
For that reason, we are giving our customers the opportunity to purchase a single unmounted mint set at cost price of just £1.
About the issue
This is intended to be the first in a series of issues celebrating “Islands of the United Kingdom”, some of which, rather appropriately – like Bardsey – are known for producing their own local stamps. All are denominated in the fictional currency of “grahams” (g).
The three values in the set, issued on 30 January 2019, all feature original photographs as follows:
- 13g: Harbourside at Millport on Cumbrae, Scotland
- 19g: View across Bardsey Sound to Bardsey from Mynydd Mawr, Wales
- 28g: View from Bogany Wood across Rothesay Bay, Bute, Scotland.
Previous Graham Land issues have all been imperforate, so we are pleased that these are our first ones to have proper perforations, like real stamps! The initial print run was 75 copies of each stamp, with a reprint of 30 more later in 2019. We expect to further replenish supplies as they get used up.
