Five bogus Lundy labels, believed to be a full set, inscribed “Lundy Railway Company Ltd – Newspaper Label”, and denominated 1p, 3p, 6p, 7p and 9p.
There is very little information about these labels online, and we don’t know who produced them or when. However, online references to coverage in the British Private Post Study Group Newsletter in July 1986, and in the LCC Philatelic Quarterly in 1988, suggest that they may date from the 1980s.
The labels feature rudimentary printing on coloured gummed paper.
Though not an official Lundy issue, they are nonetheless interesting – and rarely seen – Cinderellas.
