Description
Hard-to-find sheet of 12 of the 20p stamp issued by the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway in 1982 to commemorate the reopening of the line to Welshpool.
This particular sheet, numbered 75, features Welsh margin text. Only 175 such sheets were ever produced, with a further 175 issued with margin text in English, so intact sheets are now quite rare!

About the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway
The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway is a 8.5-mile narrow gauge heritage railway linking the town of Welshpool with the village of Llanfair Caereinion. Following closure by British Railways in 1956, the line was reopened in stages as a heritage railway between 1963 and 1981.
Stamps for the railway letter service were first issued in 1975, with further releases generally appearing every two or three years until the final issue in 2003.
